That smell of roasted coffee beans, the fine aroma... It feels refreshing by just thinking about it.
From One coffee lover to Another. I really miss going to cafes, taking those slow sips and enjoying the time while talking to my friends, reading a book or working.
Since, work-from-home became the new norm, most people confined themselves in their home. Hitting a local cafe for that daily caffeine dose has now become a ritual of the past. 2020 will go down in history for many reasons. It has significantly changed our daily lives and routines.
Many of us have been fans of Friends one time or other. While watching the show, we have pictured our friends hanging out, chatting, gossiping or even working along in a Cafe. It has made cafes a hangout spot.
To most of us, drinking coffee is like a ritual. A good cup of coffee can be a perfect complement for a productive day. But when you are confined by the boundaries of your home, how do you get that one single cup. Well of course, we can order it now.
But, in my opinion, if you feel like getting that cup of cappuccino, ordering it online does not work. I think that coffee is a lot about the social aspect. Many of us are amateurs and can't really make a coffee like that at home.
But interesting things started happening during this pandemic. It was not that only few people who were missing that warm cup. The count was much much bigger. The craving lead to some interesting trends in social media.
Dalgona Coffee
It created such a buzz on social media and immediately became a popular at-home beverage. With right ingredients available at home, anyone from a child to an adult can master the art of making Dalgona Coffee.
The Coffee seems delicious just by the looks of it and then with all that creaminess, it just tempts you to try at least once. The end result, the hard work pay off and you get a tasty coffee in your own home.
Coffee Shots
It's nothing new but it became super popular during the pandemic. For people like us who are stuck at home, with no socializing and lack of motivation, these coffee shots worked as an energy boosters.
It's not just us who were trying to create something different. When we were not going to these cafes to get our coffees, they decided to come to us. Several coffee brands started hosting live coffee sessions on Instagram and other social media platforms. They have been sharing coffee brewing tips and tricks for us coffee lovers to make that perfect coffee at home.
It may come as a surprise to few, but the coffee consumption has picked up during this phase. The coffee drinking trend was on the rise, and this pandemic has catalyzed it further.
